We went to the clinic bright and early yesterday expecting to have our last day of round 2 and a longgggggg day filled with chemo pushes. Unfortunately , that didnt happen because her platelets were too low 😞 

So now we’re home for a few days. Go back up Thursday morning to have her counts checked again. If theyre high enough, we do her chemo. If not, looking like a platelet transfusion and then try again next week 🤷‍♀️ 

But on a good note… Today is Daddy’s birthday!! 🥳 🥰

And on another good note, she’s starting to eat more real food instead of just pouches and cheese! 🧀 💕

End of the week update: 

Dad took Octavia up today since Mom is feeling under the weather. Unfortunately her numbers are still too low for treatment. We’re giving her the weekend to see if they can come up on their own, then go back to the clinic Monday for a re-check. If they did go up on their own, we’ll do her long last day of round 2. If they don’t, we’ll see if we do another rest week or if a transfusion is needed. So more to come on that!! 💪 💕

WE DIDNT UPDATE YESTERDAY, HOW DARE WE!!! 😯 

Brought Octavia up to get our numbers checked to see if we’re all set for the last long day… well, her platelets did jump all on their own to be in range, but her ANC and hemoglobin dropped back down and got a big thumbs down again for treatmentent. 😣 

So now, we go back to try again on Thursday to check number again. But it looks like it’s possible to need a blood transfusion Thursday if nothing changes (or drops lower), and then long day either Friday or Monday.

Octavia is having a “ball” in her ball pit! Can’t get enough of her sweet little face and smiles!!! 

Well… fortunately and unfortunately, today was a relatively quick visit. 🤦🏼‍♀️ 

The not so great news: her ANC plummeted to a whopping 48, so definitely not in the threshold for her final long day of round 2 yet. 😞 So, back up on Tuesday to do the same…. Prepare for a long day, go in early, run numbers and hope they’re in range to get the green light for treatment. 🤞 

The good news: Octavia’s platelets have doubled and are in the 300s on their own without needing a platelet transfusion, we’re also holding off on a blood transfusion because even though its low her hemoglobin is holding steady so well give it a few more days to see which way it decides to go… and we’re home which is always better than the hospital! 

The best news, we currently still love going to the clinic, love seeing all our friends and roaming the hallways getting called “the mayor” 😂 plussss we got to see a familiar face from our inpatient time on our way out which was AMAZING!! 💕

Weekly Octavia Update: 

We went to the clinic again this morning in preparation of her last long day or transfusion, and unfortunately, we are still a big thumbs down!!! 😩 

Her numbers have improved which is good since she’s had no transfusions recently, but they just seem stuck under that treatment threshold and do not want to to budge!! So what’s the plan of attack you ask? 

We are giving her the rest of the week off. We are going to go back up bright and early Monday and run the numbers again to see if they want to be in range. If yes, we do our long day and are done with round two. If they have improved but are still just under range, we go home. If they stay where they are now or decrease any more, we stay for a bone marrow biopsy. 

Send all the good juju our way, let’s hope these numbers are finally prepared to cooperate so we can finally finish this round!! 🙏 

On an adorable note, look who was so stinking happy about sitting in a chair all by herself today 🥰

Someone out there knows Octavia loves her ducks, and clearly knew she needed more! 😂 Even the bag they came in is shaped like a duck, how cool is that!! 💕

Thank you to the The Faris Foundation!! They sent this AMAZING care package for Octavia and it had all of her favorites: little people toys, an instrument table, frozen blocks, and the biggest duck we’ve ever seen!!

Got to the clinic this morning and her numbers have all raised and were high enough to FINALLY finish out our 2nd round of treatment!!! 🎊 

So here all day for that. Then at least a 2 week break before we start round 3 as inpatient. More to come!! 💪
